The Resurfacing (working title)

Capstone

The secret was not hidden away. It was hidden forward.

The closing volume of Island of Bones. Currently in beat-sheet form.

The fragment of the Codec that the Guardians sealed at the end of Book Three — the piece that was not for now — keys to a condition the behiques could not name when they cut it. When the condition is finally met, the Codec opens its last door.

Book Nine is the answer to a question Book One taught its readers to ask without ever asking it directly. The pale man, alive across a thousand years, closes the loop he opened in ~1000 AD when he walked off the Vinland window and turned south.

The saga turns from “they found the secret” into “the secret was waiting for them.”

The work the behiques did across five hundred years — to hide truth forward — pays off on a scale only the final volume can show.
